Kingsbridge Fair Week Lantern Procession

I helped the Fair Week organisers to establish a summer lantern orocession. They had the desire and the contacts but need a bit of help with the construction and lighting technology. I worked with them on four processions and now they have all they need to know and confidence to be able to do it themselves.

I am Co-founder, artistic director and project manager of the Day-Light Group an artist led community organization in St. Day, Cornwall. We began in 2007 with a small lantern procession we now run events that include large scale community made outdoor projection, combined with music, dance, song, poetry and theatre.

We have recently completed "Around the Clock"

a 2 year Heritage Lottery,  Arts Council and FEAST Cornwall funded project, celebrating the restoration of  the Clocktower.

Kate Beesley is now on board and we are planning a light spectacular to take place, subject to funding, in four locations including St. Day next 2017/18

We work in partnership with Four2Three Projections

For more info about Day-Light projects please visit The Day- Light Group

The Day- Light Choir established in 2015 as part of "Around the Clock" and led by Emma Mansfield, have worked with Fishermen's Friend  Jon Cleave and with Athene Roberts and Tim Ashton of 3 Daft Monkeys.

I commissioned Tim and Athene to write a song about the Clocktower and the Choir have performed this with them and 3 Daft Monkeys most recently at "Lost in Song" Lostwithiel and at their gig in Carn Marth.

I continue to manage the choir and fundraised towards making a CD

I ran tile making workshops and we have created an installation of over 400 tiles inside the Clocktower.

We also have a selection of stunning banners that were made by the community in workshops that I ran with local historian Lesley Trotter.

My work extends into a variety of settings including that of the Merlin Centre, Carnon Downs Memory Cafe and with Age UK

I work with Cascade Theatre Company and in 2014/15 we launched the "Brewing Up the Past" Project with community groups in Redruth as part of Kresen Kernow. This celebration of the Old Redruth Brewery included a Community street performance and a community installation in the Cornish Studies Library.

I worked with Murdoch and Trevithic Centre, Carefree, Miners Court Crafters, Cornwall Youth Council, Penhaligan Friends, Redruth library, U3A, The Brewery Reminiscence Group, Treleigh and Penoweth Primary Schools to make an installation inspired by memories the building and the jobs that were done there. As well as a Brewery it had been a knitwear factory amonst other things.

We worked with maps, clay, wool and created beer mats using the ingredients used in making beer!
