We are a collective of outstanding artists who have worked together over a number of years across a range of festivals, celebrations and projects in schools. Embodying a wide range of skills, talents and experience- we are visual artists, makers and performers living in Cornwall, but we are happy to travel far and wide.

As well as undertaking large scale commissions, we offer a range of tailor-made curriculum based workshops in combied arts ranging from large and small-scale processional creations to shadow puppets and more.

We come together to devise and create participatory art projects. Our fabulously versatile pyramid can transform into workshop space, a framework for installations, a story- telling and performance space.

It has been to the Royal Cornwall Show, Port Eliot Festival and Princess Pavillions. If you would like us to bring something spectacular to your event please get in touch.

This year we took part in the Fal River Festival, holding mussel casting and painting workshops in 3 venues in and around Falmouth. The beauifully decorated mussels were then attached to rope, emulating the mussel laden ropes that hang beneath the River Fal. The finished works were then displayed on the King Harry Ferry which runs adjacent to the mussel farm from which the project was inspired. Thank you to everyone who took part we loved being part of the festival.

Isles of Scilly

Island Light Festival

ARTiculate helped to establish the first Isles of Scilly lantern Celebration in Feb 2011. The Island community came together to create fabulous fish and boat lanterns as well as help with 3 big builds. Emma Mansfield  formed a processional choir who performed along the route of the procession. The evening ended with fire sculptures on the beach followed by supper in the Community Centre.

We also had a day on St Agnes where we were given a warm welcome at the Turks Head. A full day of building lanterns, constructing  fire sculptures followed by the making and flying of kites. At the end of the day we held a mini lantern procession, flew illuminated  kites and burnt the rather damp fire sculptures. It was a brilliant day.

The week long event is set to take place next year during February half term. Cant wait! we met some wonderful people and its a perfect setting for lanterns.

Shadow puppets can be an amazingly simple but a stunningly effective way to illustrate stories and ideas. We have transformed the band stand at Princess Pavillions into a shadow puppet theatre, running workshops before hand, making puppets, creating a story and then setting it to live music. We hope to be doing this again next year in the early spring. Contact us if you would like your school to get involved or if you would like us to create a shadow theatre at your school, community centre, woodland..........

Growing and Glowing was a shadow puppet and lantern event at The Liskerett Centre in Liskard. We worked with children in school, to create a story which included in it three lanterns that we had made for Eden and The St. Austell Torch-lit Carnival. The event was held in the outside space at the centre and each lantern was lit as the audience approached. The children narrated the story as the audience was led around. They then performed the story using shadow puppets. It was a fantastically magical evening. The children were amazing after only one rehersal they presented to a large audience their fabulous work.

We were asked to build some archways with the children of St Neots School for the community production of A Daughters Tale that was performed in the church. St Neots rich heritage was the basis for the play, and much of it is told in the stained glass windows. We took elements and images from the windows and incorporated them in the arches.
